About the center
The Perinatal Center is the clinical base of the Volgograd State Medical University. The doctors of the institution provide specialized assistance to pregnant and newborn babies together with the staff of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Volga Medical University (Head – MD, Professor Lyudmila Vladimirovna Tkachenko) and the Department of Pediatrics and Neonatology of the Volga Medical University (Head – MD, Professor L.K. Gavrikov) Scientific and practical conferences are held on the basis of the institution, including with the participation of scientists from the leading federal research centers of obstetrics and gynecology, neonatology.
Main directions
The main task of the center is to provide specialized medical care to women of reproductive age, pregnant women with a high risk of complications during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period, women in labor and newborns, premature babies, especially newborns with critically low birth weight, born both in the perinatal center and other obstetric institutions of the Volgograd region and transferred to it, including the provision of high-tech assistance.
